Norwegian tenor Martin Enger Holm is a versatile classical singer currently in his last year at Oslo National Academy of Opera (KHiO). He holds a BMus & MA degree from the Royal Academy of Music in London where he received their prestigious Entrance Scholarship and was a Josephine Baker Trust Scholar.

Martin’s repertoire ranges from opera to oratorio & art songs spanning from baroque to modern music. In 2021 he made his debut in staged outdoor performances of Alcina as Oronte with Saluzzo Opera Academy in Italy (director: Dario Innella), as Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni staged in the drawing room of the historic Athenaeum Club in London (director: David Thomas) and as the Prologue & Peter Quint in The Turn of The Screw by Benjamin Britten as part of the opera course in Oslo (director: Jacopo Spirei).

Since the beginning of 2022, Martin has taken on the roles as Guglielmo in Elisabetta, Regina d’Inghilterra by Rossini (director: Jacopo Spirei) at Oslo National Opera & Aeneas in Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas (director: Stefan Herheim), both with Oslo National Academy of Opera. Furthermore he made his debut as Fenton in 8 staged performances of Otto Nicolai’s Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor with Eskilstuna Summer Opera in Skensta theatre (Sweden).

Highlights to come include the role as Belfiore in La finta giardiniera by Mozart at Oslo National Opera with the Norwegian Broadcasting Orchestra conducted by Adrian Kelly as well as a handful of recitals dedicated to the art song repertoire and masterclasses with Anne Sofie von Otter and Bejun Mehta.

As a concert singer Martin has been the tenor soloist in Mendelssohn’s Elijah with Guernsey Choral & Orchestral Society (Guernsey), Handel’s Messiah with Oslo Symphony Orchestra (Oslo), presented recitals in Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria (Santander, Spain) as part of Encuentro Music Academy i Santander directed by Mo. Péter Csaba and performed works by Handel at Guardiagrele Opera Festival (Italy) conducted by Mariusz Smolij.

As well as being soloist, Martin finds a lot of inspiration in the creative part of his career and has his own Christmas and Summer concert tour around Norway every year since 2010 with his tenor brother Henrik Enger Holm and a broad selection of guest artists. Including operatic soprano Solveig Kringelborn, actor Toralv Maurstad, violinist Catharina Chen & the Norwegian Girls Choir. During his time at The Royal Academy of Music, Martin has performed in numerous concerts & recitals and portrayed the tenor characters in L’elisir d’amore, Così fan tutte & Don Pasquale.
