Martin Enger Holm performs the title role in Leonard Bernstein’s Candide at Staatstheater Regensburg.

Based on Voltaire’s celebrated satirical novel, Bernstein’s comic operetta follows the idealistic Candide on an extraordinary journey as his belief that he lives in “the best of all possible worlds” is repeatedly put to the test.

Presented in a concert version with narration by Loriot, the Regensburg production is conducted by John Spencer and directed by Ronny Scholz, with the Philharmonisches Orchester Regensburg and Opernchor.
