Originally composed in the eighteenth century, the opera combines comedy, romance and fantasy while showcasing the elegance and vocal brilliance of the Italian classical style.
Celidoro is one of the opera’s principal tenor roles, allowing Martin to demonstrate both lyrical singing and comic stage presence. The production formed part of Landestheater Linz’s commitment to rediscovering neglected works from the operatic repertoire.
